Integrated Tribal Development Programme - AWO International Germany (former project)

The Integrated Tribal Development Programme, in partnership with AWO International Germany, came to an end in 2008, but CTRD would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to AWO for their dedicated support and funding over the years.

The support and funding from AWO International Germany, since the implementation of the project in 1994, enabled CTRD to hugely improve the lives of disadvantaged tribal communities in and around the Pandalur Taluk of the Nilgiris.

The primary focus of the programme was to contribute to the sustainable development of the tribal communities by promoting their status in the areas of heath, education, agriculture, income generation, community development and infrastructure all within a participatory framework.

In addition to the development projects in the tribal villages themselves, AWO International Germany also enabled CTRD to expand our own infrastructure and capabilities both at the CTRD campus at Eallamanna and through the building of a training centre in Gudalur.
